Abstract
Unprecedented connectivity of the network age has led to enormous social and economic benefits, but has also introduced numerous new challenges. In a fully connected world, security threats continue to evolve, keeping ahead of the most advanced defenses. Network users implement a wide range of security policies for securing the data and services. Utilizing these policies in traditional network is heavy complex and security is becoming vulnerable because of the presence of distributed network control and insufficiency of standard control protocol. Security measures like firewall, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Software-Defined Network (SDN), Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) can be implemented to reduce the network vulnerability that is to restrict unauthorized access or damage. This research survey aims to provide various advantages, disadvantages and working principles of the measures or methods which are employed for network security concerns.
