Abstract

Diabetes is one of the most frequently diagnosed diseases in elderly people. The main cause of this disease is the existence of excessive amounts of glucose. This paper presented a machine learning based approach for diabetes diagnosis. K-nearest neighbohood, decision tree, radial basis function and feed forward neural network are considered. Performance of the proposed algorithms are evaluated in terms of mean square error root mean square error, kappa and classification accuracy.
